New Year has certainly passed, and with it all of our resolutions that we are still trying to fulfill even today. One of the most popular NY resolutions is hitting the gym more regularly, becoming more motivated to work out and achieving the fitness goals. Well, perhaps it’s time we start thinking about it now, especially because summer is just around the corner. Knowing personally how hard this can be, take a look at some of the tips that help me, and I deeply believe that you will find them helpful too.

Clothes do matter

First of all, let’s make one thing clear. Staying fashionable is quite popular for gay people, and the gym is definitely a place where you get to express your own fitness fashion. Even though some might say that it’s not really important what clothes you wear while working out, we beg to differ. Not only is it important for presenting yourself in the best possible way (we need to meet our expectations as fashionable people after all), but the right clothes can be quite motivating. Finding a high quality piece of clothing that you will wear at the gym can do wonders for your motivation. If you think that you look amazing in it, even better, especially because gay people are rarely completely satisfied with their bodies, so make the most of the situation when you do. Moreover, it’s always better to work out in compressed gym clothes, rather than old t-shirts and torn shorts.

What are you eating and drinking?

This will definitely sound like a cliché, but it’s definitely one that you should bear in mind. Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym, so if you really want to be a sexy twink or a hairy stud with abs, you need to think about what you’re eating. The best possible option would be to talk to a personal trainer and a nutritionist and make them create a dietary plan for you. However, if you want to work on your guns and make your arms a bit more Chris Hemsworth-y (drools), it would be a great idea to use supplements for the nutrients you’re missing through your meals. In order to save time, you can always shop your supplements online, you just need to know which ones you need. Supplements like turmeric, magnesium and vitamin B are always a great choice. Also, make sure to hydrate very often so as not to let your body mistake thirst for hunger.

Music can move everyone

New generations are completely obsessed with diets and dietary plans, eating organic and stuff like that, but I think that there’s a thing that can motivate you even more during your workouts. And the answer is, guys, right in front of us. It’s music. Yes, music can motivate you tremendously, especially if you choose to play the right songs during your workout. You can test this if you want – play some Celine Dion while working out, and then the other day play some Lady Gaga or Imagine Dragons if that’s your cup of tea (well, basically, something upbeat, depending on your taste of genre). Upbeat songs can move you, motivate you and lift your spirits even more, so remember this the next time you’re trying to find the best workout playlist.

Ready, set, goals!

If you’re a visual person, then you might want to create certain goals for yourself that you will hand somewhere to remind you of what you need to do. Even though this might sound silly and geeky, it can really help. Try to think about the mileage that you want to run today, the weight you want to lift or the number of calories you want to burn, and write it all down. This can also be amazing for everyone who likes statistics, and it can certainly be quite motivating. If you don’t like writing things down or you’re not that artsy, you can always find a good app that you can use.

The most difficult thing about working out is definitely motivation. Hopefully, all the tips I gave you will help you out, because they really can, especially if you put juuuust a bit of yourself into it. Well, you know that they say – good luck, and don’t f*** it up.
